Qatar Airways has announced it will up its flights between Manchester and Doha to twice daily in February 2015.
The double daily service will commence on 15 February 2015 operated by an Airbus A330-200. Currently 10 flights a week are operated on the route.
“Increasing services to and from Manchester to a double daily operation will provide our passengers with more convenient connection times and greater choice when connecting to onward flights through our newly opened Doha hub, Hamad International Airport,” said the airline’s UK and Ireland country manager Richard Oliver.
Qatar Airways first launched the route in 2003 and together with its Heathrow operations and new Edinburgh flights launching in May will offer 63 direct services a week from the UK.
Ken O’Toole, chief commercial officer at Manchester Airports Group (MAG) said: “We’re delighted that Qatar Airways will increase its long-haul services from Manchester Airport, providing further direct connectivity to Doha and beyond. The service will provide increased choice to the 22m passengers living close to Manchester Airport.”
