Qatar Airways to fly to Chicago
Qatar Airways will commence daily flights to Chicago next year.
The direct service from Doha will commence on 10 April 2012, using a 335-seat, three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, with a flying time of approximately 15 hours. Chicago will become Qatar Airways’ fourth US destination, following New York, Washington DC and Houston.
“As Qatar Airways continues its aggressive expansion, we are pleased to finally offer another gateway in the United States, this time to the ‘Windy City’ of Chicago, five years after we began operations to North America,” said the airline’s CEO, Akbar Al Baker. “Chicago is a key route for business and leisure travellers alike, connecting them from destinations across India, Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific with a one-stop service via Doha to the Midwest.
“For the people of Chicago and the Midwest, we look forward to offering a great travel experience on the world’s best airline to cities across our network with one-stop convenience through our Doha hub,” he added.
Flights will depart Doha at 0915 daily, arriving into Chicago O’Hare airport at 1550. The return service will depart Chicago at 2130, arriving back into Qatar at 1900 the next day.
