Tokyo Haneda International Airport welcomed the first Qatar Airways flight marking the airlines’ third destination in Japan and 143rd globally. The inaugural flight also marked the operation of Qatar Airways’ Boeing 787 Dreamliner to one of their three destinations in Japan. The airline has been operating in Japan with routes to Osaka and Tokyo Narita, since 2005 and 2010 respectively.

Qatar Airways chief executive officer, HE Akbar Al Baker said: “This new route will offer more options and flexibility when travelling, be it for business or leisure.”

Elaborating further Qatar Airways senior vice president commercial, East Asia & South West Pacific, Woo Yew Seong, and Qatar Airways country manager, Japan, Tomohiko Matsumoto, added: “This strong relationship is reflected in not just the presence of our airline in Japan but also in trade, art and culture that is shared between our two countries.”

The route operated by an Boeing 787 Dreamliner offers 22 seats in business class and 232 in economy. The new route will bring number of Qatar Airways’ flights to Japan up from 14 to 21 frequencies each week.

The flight QR810 departs Doha at 07:35, arriving in Tokyo at 23:25. While flight QR811, departs Tokyo at 01:00, arriving into Doha at 06:00.
