Qatar Airways welcomes the A350 XWB

The first Airbus A350 XWB was recently delivered to Qatar Airways.
The airline held a grand ceremony in Doha at the Premium Terminal of Doha International Airport to showcase the aircraft.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Qatar Airways group chief executive, HE Akbar Al Baker, Didier Evrard, Airbus executive vice president head of programmes and Eric Schulz, Rolls-Royce president of civil large engines.
Akbar Al Baker, said: “We are ready to commence operations with the A350 XWB. The engineering design of the A350 XWB is modern and technologically refined.”
The first commercial service of the aircraft will be deployed on the Doha-Frankfurt route on 15 January 2015.
The A350 XWB offers a two-class configuration with 36 business class and 247 in economy class. Qatar Airways is the only airline to operate every family of Airbus’ modern airline portfolio. In addition to the 80 A350s it has on order, the airline has a current Airbus fleet comprising of the A320, A330 Freighter, A319LR, A321, A330, A340 and A380 families.
