Qatar eyes more Indian stations

Qatar Airways is mulling on adding two more stations in India in order to expand operations in the country. Akbar Al Baker, CEO for Qatar Airways, said that as per a bilateral agreement between two countries, the airline could add two more stations, which it would like to do by next year.
“The Indian market has a huge growth potential and we have the capacity to tap that,” Al Baker told the Economic Times.
The airline would also switch to Gas to Liquid Jet Fuel (GTL) – a fully synthetic aviation fuel – instead of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) from mid next year during the forthcoming international energy conference in Doha. The first flight using GTL would be operated between Doha and Johannesburg.
