Tourism and Events Queensland and STA Travel have been announced as the official travel partners for ‘The Inbetweeners 2’ movie.

The pair will be launching a youth-orientated gap year campaign as part of the agreement, which links with the film’s release in cinemas on 6 August.

The film sequel sees the four teenagers heading on a road trip through Australia, with scenes shot in Byron Bay, Sydney and the remote town of Maree.

“This partnership with STA Travel is a phenomenal opportunity for us to showcase exactly what Queensland brings to the table in terms of gap year experiences and working holiday opportunities. The UK youth market is huge for us and already accounts for 38 per cent of UK travel to Queensland,” said Jane Nicholson, Tourism and Events Queensland’s international director for the UK, Ireland and Nordic regions.

The campaign will run throughout the summer with in-store, digital and print promotions.

STA Travel UK, USA and South Africa managing director Glen Mintrim said: “We are delighted to be working alongside Tourism and Events Queensland on this exciting campaign as official travel partners for The Inbetweeners 2 movie. STA Travel customers love Queensland for its all-encompassing offering and unforgettable experiences – just a few of which are captured in this much- anticipated new film.”
