Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has unveiled plans to launch a brand new Radisson in China.

Scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2017, the new Radisson Suzhou will form part of a mixed-use development in the Suzhou Science and Technology Town – the new business hub of the historic Chinese city.

Once complete it will offer 155 rooms, Chinese and international restaurants, a fitness centre and four function rooms.

Thorsten Kirschke, Carlson Rezidor’s Asia Pacific president, said the new hotel marks the next step in a major expansion strategy in China, where the company currently operates 14 hotels.

“We look forward to… expand[ing] Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s presence in China. We aim to have 50 hotels in operation by 2019 in the country and grow our presence to deliver an even stronger growth trajectory,” Kirschke said.

The signing of the Radisson Suzhou means that Carlson Rezidor now has 87 hotels in the pipeline across the Asia Pacific region.
