Ramada Hotel and Suites Ajman closed 2013 on a positive note. The hotel which caters to both leisure and business travellers achieved an average occupancy rate of 91% in 2013. This was four percent higher than its 2012 figures.
The property sold a total of 124,000 room nights in 2013, surpassing 2012’s record of 105,000. The leisure segment accounted for 57% of its total bookings, with guests from CIS regions on top of the nationality mix, followed by the German, GCC, Indian and Pakistani markets.
Iftikhar Hamdani, general manager of Ramada Hotel and Suites Ajman said: “We had increased our room inventory in the last quarter of 2012 with the opening of 60 rooms to accommodate influx of guests. We have a very positive outlook in 2014. Tourism in Ajman is booming thus, demand for rooms will continue to increase. There is a need to add at least 200 more rooms in the emirate to be able to cope with this high demand.”
The property’s main markets will remain Russians and Germans but the Turkish market is gradually picking up. “We expect an increase from the corporate and MICE segment with the onset of various projects across all emirates,” added Hamdani.
