Boscombe Beach, Dorset, was recently taken over by a team from Royal Caribbean who undertook the meticulous task of counting 900 ball pit balls, 192 golf balls, 144 badminton shuttlecocks, 80 ping pong balls, 31 surf boards, 30 basketballs, 16 ice hockey sticks, 16 pool cues, 144 pool balls and 8 table tennis tables.

While this unique list of equipment might look like the inventory for the next Olympics or Commonwealth Games, it is in fact just under half of the sports equipment needed on board Royal Caribbean’s ultimate adventure at sea, Harmony of the Seas, arriving in the UK in May 2016.

Soon to be the world’s largest cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas is currently under construction.  The cruise ship will offer guests more than 30 different sports and games activities including a full ship running circuit on the top deck and serviced gym with studios and classes.

This ship includes Ultimate Abyss, the first-ever 10-story slide, as well as the multi-level Perfect Storm water slides.

Harmony of the Seas launches in May 2016 with two short getaway sailings. The three and four day cruises will sail roundtrip from Southampton and incorporate a visit to Cherbourg in France and Rotterdam in the Netherlands respectively.  The two cruises will be an exclusive first chance for UK passengers to experience the ship ahead of her inaugural sailing to Barcelona, from where she will sail the Mediterranean throughout summer 2016 before moving to the Caribbean.
