RCL Cruises has announced the launch of its new ESPRESSO reservation system for UK and Irish travel agents.

The platform is said to ‘transform’ how travel agents book and sell cruises for the Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara Club Cruises brands showing side-by-side comparison and a powerful search engine.

The system can also find an existing reservation from a single piece of information, show a customer’s history with the cruise lines and features an interactive deck plan. It has also been optimised for tablet devices.

“These new tools deliver an easier and more intuitive booking experience for our valued travel partners. We’re excited to see how this smarter, more dynamic platform will enhance their business results with our brands,” said Stuart Leven, managing director, Royal Caribbean International, UK and Ireland.

Celebrity Cruises managing director UK and Ireland Jo Rzymowska added: “A new simplified, intuitive, and modern user interface reduces the number of clicks to make a reservation – from seven to five – and clearly positions the most important and frequently used functions up front. All inventory is centralised and travel agents can select up to four stateroom categories at once for quick and easy comparison.”

Agents in the UK and Ireland will be trained on the new system in the next two months ahead of launching at the end of March.

“We listened to our travel partners and designed the new ESPRESSO reservation system based on their feedback to build a powerful tool,” added Richard Twynam, managing director, Azamara Club Cruises UK and Ireland. “ESPRESSO allows travel agents to focus more on their clients than on their screens and significantly helps improve the experience when they are supporting customers.”
