Corporate Traveller UK has increased its staff levels by 20% in a recent recruitment drive.
The TMC has taken on an additional 46 travel consultants and follows its 30% growth in turnover last year. As part of this the company’s business development team has more than doubled and now includes 40 business development managers (BDMs) to continue its rise.
Graeme Milne, UK general manager at Corporate Traveller said its team approach had led to the increase in business and staff.
“A core element of our approach to servicing is that consultants work in small teams of no more than six based in a location close to the client, providing expert high-touch personal service via phone and email. Rather than expand a team as new business comes in, we will set up a new team, and we never use call centres,” he explained.
“Our business model has proved to be so successful that we needed to increase staff numbers significantly over the last six months,” he said.
To support its new employees the company has introduced a new Novice Training Programme that lasts eight weeks instead of the initial two and also has a BDM Accreditation Pathway.
