Regal Hotels International has signed a new five-star hotel at Xi’an’s Xianyang International Airport, in northern China’s Shaanxi province.
The Regal Airport Hotel, which is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2014, will be located adjacent to the airport’s Terminal 3A, 30km from downtown Xi’an.
With a building area approximately 54,000m², the eight-storey hotel will feature 300 guestrooms and facilities including a coffee shop, two restaurants, swimming pool, spa and fitness centre. It will also feature extensive meeting space, including a grand ballroom.
“We are honoured and excited in collaborating with Xi’an Xianyang International Airport in opening this new hotel,” said Belinda Yeung, Regal’s Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. “Regal Hotels International has profound experience in operating airport hotels… [and] we are confident that the new Hotel project in Xi’an will be another big success.”
Zhang Wenge, General Manager of Xi’an Xianyang International Airport Co Ltd said he expected the new airport would “make a major contribution to the economic development in the region”.
Currently, Regal operates six hotels in Hong Kong and seven hotels in mainland China. Its pipeline also includes hotels in Suzhou, Zhengzhou, Kunshan, Foshan, Chengdu and Wuhan.
