Regent Airways has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
The fast-expanding Bangladeshi airline welcomed the new single-aisle jet at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on 4 July 2013, as part of a six-year leasing arrangement from US-based International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC).
The aircraft is the youngest B737 ever registered in Bangladesh, and will be deployed on the Dhaka–Kuala Lumpur route. It has been equipped with 126 seats in two cabins – 12 in business class and 114 in economy.
Regent now expects to take delivery of another B737-700 in the coming weeks, which it will use to launch flights Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong. The airline also operates two Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
