Marriott has opened its first Renaissance Hotel in Chengdu, the capital of southwest China’s Sichuan province.

The new Renaissance Chengdu Hotel is centrally located on the South Renmin Road and features 348 contemporary rooms, all with high-ceilings and views of the city. Included in this inventory are 29 suites and seven floors of club rooms, which have access to the 29th floor club lounge.

Facilities at the Renaissance Chengdu include two restaurants, a bar, business centre, 24-hour fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool. There is also 1,322m² of meeting space across nine function rooms, including a grand ballroom.

“Marriott International’s portfolio in China continues to expand and we’re thrilled to open our first Renaissance Hotel in the heart of Chengdu,” said Henry Lee, Marriott’s chief operations officer for Greater China. “Renaissance Hotels is known for embracing the spirit of each destination, making it a perfect fit for travellers visiting this exciting city.”

Renaissance Chengdu becomes the brand’s 16th property in mainland China.
