Windstar Cruises has announced the revamp plans for the two new ships joining its fleet this spring.

Around $17 million will be spent in total on the two ships, which Windstar has acquired from Seabourn and will update to its own style.

New flooring and furniture will be installed in the lounge while the Veranda restaurant will be expanded to have outdoor seating.

The outdoor Star Deck will be expanded while the card room will be converted into a screening room.

Several concepts that were implemented on the already-joined Star Pride (the third ship in the acquisition which joined Windstar in May 2014) and will be on both ships include the Yacht Club, Compass Rose and Star Bar. Its formal dining will be known as the AmphorA Restaurant, while at night Veranda will turn into Candles for dinner under the stars.

All 106 suites will also be updated with new furniture and fittings.

Star Breeze and Star Legend will receive a full stem-to-stern transformation, more than doubling the investment that was spent onStar Pride’s original enhancements,” says Hans Birkholz, Windstar Cruises’ chief executive officer. “We learned a lot about our guests’ preferences with the debut of Star Pride last year. We are taking their feedback and giving them what they want with the launch of these two all-suite yachts.”

The first new ship will be received on 15 April and enter a three-week drydock in Genoa ahead of debuting as Star Breeze on 6 May in Nice, France.

The second will join the fleet on 4 May to be christened Star Legend on 25 May in Rome.

The cruise line also announced that Star Pride will go through an additional $3m renovation in April 2016 to add the AmphorA restaurant, lounge renovations and screening room.
