Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas will make its UK debut tomorrow when it arrives in Southampton, with a host of new features following a 14-day drydock period.
The ship is 40% larger than any other ship that has visited the port and accommodates more than 5,400 guests.
It sails in today from Rotterdam following a drydock period, where new culinary and entertainment options were added.
The ship will soon offer ‘Dynamic Dining’ meaning passengers can choose to eat in 20 restaurants and the three-tiered main dining room has now been split into the American Icon Grill, Far East-inspired Silk and the formal The Grande.
Four other concepts have been added including the Japanese offering Izumi Hibachi & Sushi restaurant; the Sabor Taqueria & Tequila Bar; Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine and Coastal Kitchen, with the latter exclusive to suite guests and Pinnacle members.
The menus of the new concepts will be available from 14 March 2015 on Oasis of the Seas, and before that passengers will have the traditional dining room offering.
“Royal Caribbean International’s legacy of innovation brought the revolutionary Oasis-class ships to life and in that spirit, during the Oasis of the Seas’ and Allure of the Seas’ drydocks we are adding features and experiences to wow our guests even more,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, executive vice president, operations at Royal Caribbean International.
She added: “One of the many exciting new features is Dynamic Dining, which has received an overwhelmingly positive response from our guests. We are expanding this new dining programme to offer our guests and prospective consumers the features that appeal most to them according to the feedback we receive.”
Ten new suites have also been added with views of the AquaTheater and Boardwalk which include two Royal Family Suites.
Passengers in these suites can also use The Suite Lounge, The Sun Deck and Coastal Kitchen.
Oasis of the Seas will also feature Broadway musical CATS onboard.
