A travel trade event dedicated to romantic travel will come to Asia for the first time next year.

Amour, which launched in Venice in 2017, will further expand its global reach in February 2018 with the hosting of the inaugural Amour Asia Pacific event in Bangkok.

Due to take place from 14-17 February 2018, coinciding with Valentine’s Day, the occasion will showcase various elements of the romance travel market, including honeymoons, destination weddings and the expanding ‘baby-moon’ and ‘mini-moon’ markets.

Organised by Worldwide Events, the Bangkok event will bring together romantic destination and hotel suppliers from across the Asia Pacific region with global buyers. The three-day programme include one-to-one meetings, networking activities, gala dinners and after parties.

“We launched our inaugural Amour Forum in Venice earlier this year and it was a huge success, with more than 4,000 appointments taking place,” said Richard Barnes, CEO of Worldwide Events. “The energy in the room was electric and it was clear that there was significant interest in expanding the forum globally. I’m delighted to announce our expansion into the Asia Pacific region and excited to see how we can bring such a unique offering to a whole new market.”

Amour is limiting its supplier guest list to 100 romantic hotels and destinations in Asia Pacific, while the hosted buyer programme is also capped at 100 travel specialists.

“We know that B2B events work better when there’s a smaller group, which is why we curate an exclusive guest list to create an intimate environment, with everyone staying in one property. It allows us to host fun, interactive events designed specifically to help build strong and lasting relationships with potential clients,” added Barnes.
