Airline networking event Routes Asia is to return to China for its 2015 instalment.
The programme, which will start on 15 March, will be held in Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province in South West China. The event will be hosted by Yunnan Airport Group, which owns Kunming Changshui International Airport.
The choice of location marks the fifth time a Routes event has been held in China with Beijing and Hainan having been selected as previous choices.
“On behalf of Yunnan Airport Group, I look forward to welcoming delegates from the aviation and tourism industry to Kunming,” said Tang Xuefan, president of Yunnan Airport Group. “The central government of China, Yunnan Provincial Government and the Civil Aviation Administration of China strongly support the development of Yunnan’s aviation industry.
Kunming Changshui International Airport has the geographic advantage of being able to connect China, Southeast Asia and South Asia. With the development of China’s western region, the central government is building Yunnan into a gateway for China by opening up to the South West region. This establishes Kunming International Airport as a national gateway hub, and brings new opportunities for the development of Yunnan aviation marketing.”
The event will run from 15-17 March.
