Royal Caribbean has opened the world’s first Kung Fu Panda Noodle Shop on its cruises ship, Quantum of the Seas.
The move forms part of the company’s partnership with DreamWorks Animation. The family-style eatery becomes the first-ever Kung Fu Panda-themed restaurant on land or at sea, and will serve a selection of dim sum, noodle dishes and traditional Chinese desserts. Diners will be entertainment by Po and a cast of animated characters from the movie.
The opening coincides with the launch of Quantum of the Seas’ inaugural Chinese season.
“We’re very excited to continue building on our relationship with DreamWorks Animation and offer our guests new dining experiences onboard Quantum of the Seas as she debuts in her new home in China,” said John Suley, Royal Caribbean’s vice president of F&B.
“A creative collaboration amongst our team of chefs to create the menu for our Kung Fu Panda Noodle Shop is another example of how we continue to ensure that our onboard options reflect what today’s food conscious traveller and our Chinese guests expect from their holiday.”
Following a 53-night voyage from New York to Shanghai, Quantum of the Seas set sail on its first voyage from a Chinese port on 25 June 2015. It will now operate a series of three to eight- night itineraries from Shanghai to Japan and Korea.
