Royal Caribbean has continued its programme of refurbishments by announcing that Independence of the Seas will undergo a renovation in April 2013.
Improvements will include a “baby and toddler nursery, an enhanced digital way finding system and a giant outdoor cinema screen,” according to a release.
The ship will also be fitted with a ‘Cupcake Cupboard’ for bespoke culinary parties and design classes; and Giovanni’s Table an Italian family restaurant.
The vessel has been based in Southampton since 2008 and will return to the South of England in May 2013 after its US$7 million refurbishment. It will offer a range of itineraries including shorter cruises like two-night sailings to Le Havre and Bruges. This is in addition to eight and 14-night Norway and Mediterranean voyages.
