Princess Cruises has announced that its new vessel – the Royal Princess – will homeport at the Port of Everglades after the vessel has debuted in Europe this summer.
The 3,600 passenger vessel, which is due to launch in June 2013, will be berthed at the port’s newly refurbished second terminal – completed last Autumn.
“We are honored that Princess Cruises has once again selected Port Everglades to homeport the line’s newest and most sophisticated cruise ship, Royal Princess,” said Port Everglades chief executive & port director Steven Cernak. “Princess has a long, successful history at Port Everglades and we look forward to welcoming Royal Princess in grand style.”
The Royal Princess will have its inaugural celebrations in Southampton on 16 June 2013 before completing seasons in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. It will then move on to the Port of Everglades.
