Ryanair has announced 12 new routes from Stansted as part of its new agreement with the Essex airport.
Flights from Stansted to Basel, Bordeaux, Bucharest, Lisbon and Prague are amongst the new additions from April 2014.
New routes will also include services to Brive, France; Comiso, Sicily; Dortmund, Germany; Osijek, Croatia; Podgorica, Montenegro; Rabat, Morocco and Skelleftea, Sweden.
The airline is hoping to carry an extra 1.3 million passengers a year with the new routes in addition to the 17 that already operate.
“Today’s announcement by Ryanair is fantastic news for Stansted, the region and the passengers who rely on the airport to provide a connection to and from all parts of Europe. The new destinations and increase in flights on key routes will offer passengers and businesses even more choice at great value and build on the strength of Ryanair’s extensive network at Stansted, the airline’s largest base in Europe,” said Charlie Cornish, chief executive of Stansted’s owners MAG.
