Ryanair has announced new flights from Cardiff Airport to Tenerife for the winter season.
Flights from the Wales airport, Ryanair’s 15th in the UK, will start 30 October and operate every Thursday once a week. It is expected to carry more than 15,000 people a year.
Services will depart Cardiff at 11.15 to arrive on the Spanish island at 15.20, while the return journey leaves Tenerife at 06.55 to arrive in Cardiff at 10.50.
“We are delighted that Ryanair has chosen Cardiff as its 15th UK departure airport and see this as a major opportunity to increase choice for our customers. This development fits perfectly with our strategy to grow the number of low cost airlines and flights available from Cardiff,” said Jon Horne, chief executive at Cardiff Airport. “It’s great to add another major airline like Ryanair to our list and I’m sure this service will be a great success.”
The airport hopes the new flight will provide a springboard for more Ryanair or other low-cost carrier flights.
