Rydges Hotels & Resorts has been appointed to manage the new Latimer Hotel in Christchurch.
Opening on 1 October 2013, the Latimer is the first hotel to be built in the city since the 2011 earthquake. Branded as the Rydges Latimer Christchurch, the property will feature 138 rooms, a restaurant and bar, and conference and banqueting space for up to 360 people.
“We are excited to be involved in this project which will not only provide Christchurch with a brand new hotel product but also send a positive message in regard to the re-development of the city and the strong future ahead for tourism and commerce in the region.” said Norman Arundel, Rydges’ general manager.
The Latimer will become the company’s first hotel in Christchurch, and expands the Rydges portfolio in New Zealand to five locations – Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Queenstown and Christchurch.
“Rydges are definitely looking forward to regaining a presence in this key leisure and business destination and are delighted to have the addition of this brand new hotel in our New Zealand portfolio,” Arundel added.
Rydges Latimer Christchurch is located just two minutes’ walk from the city’s central business district and 15 minutes’ drive from the airport.
