South African Airways has launched a new food campaign as it also announced a new catering partner.
Taste of South Africa focuses on social media with the chance to win a holiday for two to Cape Town including flights, hotel and dinner at Ruben’s, the restaurant of one of SAA’s onboard chefs Ruben Riffel.
To enter people must share images of South African – Inspired dishes or recipes through www.tastesouthafrica.co.uk.
The campaign comes after the carrier announced a new onboard catering partner in Do & Co.
New menus will be available in economy and business class between London and Johannesburg this summer. Dishes in business class will include handmade truffle tortellini; grilled Icelandic cod with saffron and braised beef cheek with horseradish purée.
In economy passengers can try chicken tikka masala, penne puttanesca, and Schoenbrunner chocolate cake.
The airline has also tasted hundreds of wines before selecting 30 labels, bearing in mind that flavours differ at higher altitude.
SAA offers double daily flights from Heathrow to Johannesburg.
