Sabah’s State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister, Datuk Masidi Manjun, has visited Japan to discuss the bringing extra tourists to the Malaysian province, Sabah Tourism has reported. The Minister met up with four main Tokyo tour operators – Kronos International, KNT (Kinki Nippon Tourist Co Ltd), HIS Service Inc and JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) - to discuss the issues or challenges they faced bringing tourists to Sabah. The main issue coming out of the talks was the lack of direct flights into Sabah’s hub Kota Kinabalu – only four per week.
