Sabre has expanded its Bengaluru development centre in an effort to scale-up its global operations and increase the speed with which it delivers new solutions to the travel industry.

The Indian facility first opened in 2005 with just nine employees. But it has since growth to accommodate 1,400 staff, covering such areas as enterprise data and analytics, operations research, customer support and consulting.

“The expansion of the Bengaluru development centre reflects the strength of our local product and technology capabilities and, more importantly, our company’s desire to deliver more industry-leading technology to our global airline, hotel and travel agency customers faster than ever before,” said Shail Maniar, vice president & managing director of Sabre India.

The centre had recently expanded to build technology products for hotels, including Central Reservation Systems (CRS) and Property Management Systems (PMS). The Bengaluru team also supports Sabre’s global CRS services agreements and global operations functions for Sabre Travel Network’s 425,000+ travel agents worldwide.

The newly-expanded site features workspace areas and innovation zones.

“These new spaces helped us achieve great results with our new Product Life Cycle (PLC) strategy, which includes enterprise adoption of Agile,” said Maniar. “This, along with the wide range of educational and development programs, as well as extracurricular activities and benefits, has enabled us to attract some of the best talent in the industry.”
