Samoa Tourism Authority has launched an incentive for travel agents to celebrate its own Jubilee this weekend.
The period marks Samoa’s 50th anniversary of independence and to mark the occasion, the tourist board is offering one travel agent a £200 shopping voucher who makes the most bookings to Samoa by 1 October.
Often tagged onto a stay in Australia and New Zealand, the Seabreeze Resort, Tanoa Tusitala and Samon Outrigger hotels are all offering discounts or free nights to help encourage bookings, with free nights available on its sister island Savaii at the Le Lagoto Resort and Savaii Lagoon Resort.
Its Jubilee celebrations this weekend include a concert with UB40, an Independence Ball, concerts and the International Tatu Festival, in which the country will make its 2,000-year history with tattooing.
