Scoot is celebrating Singapore’s ‘SG50’ golden jubilee with a special aircraft livery.
The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, named ‘Maju-lah’, has been adorned with a colourful new livery that features the words “Happy 50th Birthday Singapore” and a series of red balloons featuring the company logos of Scoot’s Singaporean partners.
The aircraft also features an image of Singapore’s famous Merlion statue.
“Scoot is so very proud to call Singapore home. This young nation has achieved remarkable success in a short time through vision and hard work, and is a great inspiration to a young airline like Scoot. We are proud to join the SG50 celebrations and show that pride on an aircraft that will be seen around the world for months to come,” said Scoot CEO, Campbell Wilson.
Scoot was at pains to keep the special livery a secret. The Dreamliner rolled out of Boeing‘s factory with only the tail section painted and arrived at the paint factory under cover of darkness. It then underwent seven-day paint job, some of which was even done by hand.
