Scoot has launched its first flights to South Korea.

The Singapore-based low-cost carrier’s inaugural flight to Seoul took off on 12 June 2013 and will now operate three times a week, via Taipei. As a result, Scoot’s frequency between Singapore and Taipei will also increase from seven to 10 flights per week. All Scoot flights are operated using 402-seat, two-class Boeing 777 aircraft.

“Taipei is an important hub for us, with 10 flights per week to Singapore, daily flights to Tokyo and three flights per week to Seoul. The timing of these new frequencies between Singapore and Taipei complement those of our existing services. Scoot now offers both midnight and midday services ex-Singapore to Taipei, and both afternoon and night-time departures ex-Taipei back to Singapore, providing guests even more choice,” said Scoot’s CEO, Campbell Wilson.

The new Seoul service will depart Singapore’s Changi Airport at 1335 every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving in Seoul’s Incheon Airport at 2235, following a one-hour stop at Taipei’s Taoyuan Airport. The return flights will depart the South Korean capital at 2345, arriving back into Changi at 0645 the following morning, again with a one-hour layover in Taipei.

Seoul will become Scoot’s 10th destination, following Taipei, Tokyo, Sydney, Gold Coast, Bangkok, Shenyang, Qingdao, Nanjing and Tianjin.
