Scoot to launch Tianjin flights

Singapore’s new low-cost carrier, Scoot, will launch flights to Tianjin tomorrow (Thursday 23 August 2102).
The northern Chinese city will initially be served three times a week, rising to four from 9 September. And according to Scoot’s CEO Campbell Wilson, Tianjin marks the start of a Chinese expansion strategy for the airline, with other mainland destinations expected to be announced “very soon”.
Scoot’s flights will depart Singapore Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 at 0130 and arrive into Tianjin’s Binhai International Airport at 0730. The return flight departs Tianjin at 0915 and arrives back into Singapore at 1505. All flights will be operated using Scoot’s two-class Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
Scoot now flies to four destinations – Sydney, Gold Coast, Bangkok and Tianjin – with flights to Tokyo and Taipei due to commence later this year.
