An Indian sea-plane operator is planning to expand its operations to the states of Rajasthan and Maharashtra, it has been reported.
Mehair commenced operations in Gujarat in January 2015, initially connecting Ahmedabad with Porbandar. But the Economic Times reported the company co-founder, Siddharth Verma, as saying that he wants to expand to more Indian destinations.
“Taking a cue from the response and lessons learnt from the Gujarat project, we now plan to start similar services in Rajasthan and Maharashtra,” Verma was quoted saying in Mumbai.
In Rajasthan, Mehair is planning to connect the cities of Udaipur, Jaipur and Jodhpur from Bikaner, while in Maharashtra it will fly from Mumbai to Solapur, Kolhapur, Nanded and Latur.
Serving both locals and tourists, Mehair operates a fleet of amphibious Cessna aircraft, which can operate from both land and water.
