Vietnam Airlines will deploy an Airbus A321 on the new route

Just weeks after Bangkok Airways launched the first direct flight between Bangkok and Danang, Vietnam Airlines has unveiled plans to start its own service on the route.

The Vietnam News Agency reports that, commencing on 26 June, the national carrier will launch four weekly flights direct between Danang and the Thai capital. Flights operate every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday using an Airbus A321 aircraft.

Bangkok will become Vietnam Airlines’ fourth international destination from Danang, following Siem Reap, Seoul and Tokyo.

On 25 May, Bangkok Airways commenced four weekly flights between Bangkok and Danang using its Airbus A319 aircraft. This marked the first scheduled service on the route since PB Air pulled out in 2009.
