Data collection on the serviced apartment sector will be improved following a new partnership between STR Global and the Association of Serviced Apartment Providers (ASAP).

STR Global will now take on data collection for the association’s survey, which has collected occupancy, average daily rate and revenue per available room numbers for several years.

“This is a pivotal period in the development of the serviced-apartment sector in the UK, and I am delighted STR Global is able to support our objective of greater industry recognition,” said James Foice, managing director of ASAP. “Our membership base has grown by 35% over the last nine months, and this is a reflection of the interest and opportunity in this rapidly evolving industry. This partnership will provide legitimacy and gravitas to the data we have been collating and will further benefit the support we offer our members and the industry as a whole.”

Reports will be available on a monthly basis instead of quarterly and will cover various cities in the UK.

“We are looking forward to growing our data collection in this segment. STR Global is interested in all aspects of the hospitality industry, and serviced apartments are an integral part of this industry,” said STR’s managing director Elizabeth Winkle, managing director of STR Global.
