Shangri-La has opened its first hotel in Nanchang, the capital of southeast China’s Jiangxi province.
The new Shangri-La Hotel Nanchang opened its doors on 8 February in Honggutan, the city’s new central business district. Set on the banks of the Ganjiang River, the hotel overlooks the 1,300-year-old Tengwang Pavilion and is 30 minutes’ drive from Nanchang’s Changbei International Airport.
The property offers 473 rooms and suites ranging from 45 to 149m². All offer free Wi-Fi and premium guests can access the hotel’s 32nd floor Horizon Club Lounge.
Facilities at the hotel include three restaurants and lounges, a fitness centre, 25-metre indoor pool, beauty salon and spa.
For the MICE market there is also 3,880m² of event space capable of holding 1,800 guests, including two ballrooms.
Hong Kong-based Shangri-La now operates almost 90 hotels, including 54 in mainland China. This year it plans to add new properties in Diqing, Hangzhou, Hefei, Qinhuangdao and Tangshan.
