Shangri-La has signed a management agreement to operate a new 336-room hotel in the Yangtze River Delta region of China.

Shangri-La Hotel Shaoxing will be located in the city of Shaoxing, close to the National Urban Wetland Park. Opening in 2018, it will become the first internationally-branded luxury hotel in the city, which is located between Hangzhou and Ningbo, in eastern China’s Zhejiang province.

“Around 140 million people live in the Yangtze River Delta metropolitan area,” said Shangri-La’s president & CEO, Greg Dogan. “Shangri-La has been operating hotels in this dynamic region for over 25 years, and we look forward to introducing Shangri-La hospitality to Shaoxing with the opening of our 12th property in the region.”

The hotel will feature a range of luxury facilities, including a several restaurants, a health club with a 25-metre indoor pool and spa facilities, a range of meeting rooms and a 1,600m² ballroom.
