Starwood Hotels & Resorts has expanded its Sheraton brand in Hebei province, northern China.
The Sheraton Langfang Chaobai River Hotel opened its doors on 28 December 2013, becoming the first internationally-branded upscale hotel in Langfang, which lies approximately 50km south of Beijing. The city also lies close to the site of Beijing’s new international airport, which is expected to open in 2018.
“We are very excited to unveil Sheraton Langfang Chaobai River Hotel as the first internationally-branded hotel in Langfang,” said Qian Jin, Starwood’s president for Greater China.
“The Sheraton brand continues to leverage the first mover-advantage it gained in China since the first Sheraton hotel opened in Beijing in 1985, and our deep understanding of the Chinese market propels us to continue to build on this legacy, enhancing the hospitality landscape in China, one city at a time.”
Sheraton Langfang Chaobai River Hotel features 302 rooms and suites, a fitness centre, indoor heated pool, spa, two restaurants and a Sheraton Club. There is also 3,000m² of meeting space, including a 1,400m² ballroom.
The opening of Sheraton Langfang forms part of Starwood’s strategy of expanding the Sheraton brand across China’s fast-expanding second and third tier cities.
