SIA takes off in UK with Flybe

apore Airlines will now be able to offer connections to multiple airports across the UK, following the start of a new partnership with Flybe.
The interline deal will enable SIA’s long-haul passengers to connect with Flybe’s regional network, providing a series of new one-stop travel options for British expats and tourists.
It will also enable residents from towns and cities across the UK to travel more conveniently to the Far East, without the need to drive to London Heathrow or Manchester airports.
The new Flybe partnership opens up additional connections via Manchester, Amsterdam, Paris and the newest destination on SIA’s global route map, Dusseldorf, with single-ticket travel bookable via travel agents, standardised baggage allowances (30kg in economy) and automatic transfer of luggage through to the final destination.
New UK destinations enabled by the Flybe deal include Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Isle of Man, Norwich, Jersey, Newquay and Belfast (all via Manchester), Inverness (via Manchester or Amsterdam), Exeter (via Manchester, Amsterdam or Paris), Southampton (via Manchester, Amsterdam or Dusseldorf), Dundee, East Midlands and Liverpool (all via Amsterdam), London City and Doncaster-Sheffield (via Amsterdam or Paris), Cardiff (via Paris or Dusseldorf), Birmingham and Manchester (via Amsterdam, Paris and Dusseldorf).
“[Our] new partnership with Flybe… enables us to provide greater opportunities for UK customers to access the high-quality customer service and comfort that Singapore Airlines is known for, all from their local airport,” said Sheldon Hee, SIA’s general manager UK & Ireland.
“This collaboration builds on our efforts to find new ways for UK customers to access our flights from closer to home; adding to the coach-fly and rail-fly partnerships we pioneered in recent years. Moving forward, we aim to continue providing ever more convenient options for our customers to fly with Singapore Airlines.”
The new partnership follows the recent announcement of SIA’s first ever trans-Atlantic flight from the UK, which will extend the airline’s Singapore-Manchester route to the US city of Houston from 30 October 2016.
