SilverNeedle Group is set to open a new Sage Hotel in Perth next month.

The AU$35 million (US$27m) development marks the upscale brand’s entry into Western Australia. Developed by Australian Development Capital (ADC), the hotel will be set in an historical building that dates back to 1902.

The former family residence has been restored, retaining the original balustrade, floorboards and fireplaces. This heritage building will be offset by a new building that contains the hotel’s 101 rooms and meeting spaces.

“Both Australian Development Capital and the SilverNeedle team had the vision of creating a modern hotel that will incorporate elements of the heritage building to provide a unique accommodation offering for the inner city market. We saw this as a great opportunity in West Perth,” said Cameron Stewart, SilverNeedle Group’s managing director.

The Perth hotel will become only the third Sage property, following existing locations in Adelaide and Wollongong. But Stewart said that “ultimately, Sage will be our strongest growth brand in the upscale hotel segment”.
