SilverNeedle has signed an agreement for another Next hotel in Australia.
The contract with QIC Global Real Estate will see the new-build hotel rise in Melbourne, as part of a mixed-use development on Collins Street. The overall complex will feature 45,000m² of commercial space and 9,000m² of retail space.
Next Hotel Melbourne will add 300 rooms and suites to Melbourne’s inventory. And in line with the Next brand ethos, the hotel will incorporate many high-tech features, such as self-check-in and keyless room entry.
Cameron Stewart, managing director of the SilverNeedle Group, explained on the brand’s concept.
“A great example is our mobile app, an evolution of an already world-class system that simplifies the check-in process for time poor guests on the go,” he said.
“There are millions of smartphone users only clicks away from completing check-in, unlocking rooms via keyless entry, selecting room preference, and accessing self-service kiosks for check-in. Guests at Next are encouraged not to queue to check-out, we see this as a superfluous process.
“Innovations like these provide huge benefits by giving our customers invaluable choice, speed and flexibility.”
SilverNeedle currently operates a Next hotel in Brisbane, but is planning to launch new properties in Perth and Darwin in future.
