Silversea to revamp luxury liner
Silversea has announced plans to refurbish its luxury cruise ship, the Silver Cloud.
Starting this month, the 296-passenger ship will undertake a three-week dry dock renovation at the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, Italy.
The project will aim to renovate Silver Cloud’s interiors, including guest cabins, public spaces and dining venues. New carpets, wall treatments and artwork will be added to the ship’s corridors, staircases and public spaces, including the bar, Panorama Lounge, spa and beauty salon.
The Relais & Châteaux-listed Le Champagne restaurant will be completely transformed with an upgraded entrance, new wooden flooring and a revised seating layout, while La Terrazza will be revamped with the addition of more tables for two. The existing Pool Bar and Grill area will be expanded with additional seating and a new curved staircase.
The guest cabins will receive new carpets, headboards, curtains and outside veranda furniture, while new beds will be fitted with Pratesi sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers. All bathrooms will feature new flooring, marble fittings and either a new combined bath-shower or a new walk-in glass shower and separate bathtub.
Finally, the ship’s jogging track will feature new synthetic turf and the pool area will be fitted with new deck furniture.
