Singapore-based Millennium & Copthorne Hotels (M&C) has agreed to acquire the Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool, which is themed on The Beatles.

Established in 2008, the hotel is set in a Grade II listed building close to the Cavern Club, where the Beatles were first discovered.

The property features 110 rooms and suites, including the McCartney and Lennon suites, plus several bars and restaurants and facilities for conferences and weddings.  Exclusive Beatles artwork and classic photographs are displayed throughout the hotel.

Former guests have included Robert Downey Junior, John Hurt and Justin Bieber, and M&C said it expects the hotel will be popular with guests from “China, USA and Europe”.

“This unique acquisition, which will be supported by M&C’s existing management infrastructure, further expands the group’s hotel portfolio to one of the leading leisure and business destinations in the UK. The city is undergoing an economic regeneration and we are proud to be a part of that,” said Kwek Leng Beng, chairman of M&C.

M&C will acquire the hotel for GBP13.8 million (US$21.5m) in cash. The Hard Days Night Hotel will mark M&C’s 24th property in Europe.
