Middle East Airlines (MEA) has become the 17th member of the SkyTeam airline alliance.

The Lebanese national carrier currently flies from Beirut to 30 international destinations in Africa, the Middle East and Europe. It will now join forces with existing SkyTeam members, including Asia’s China Airlines, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Vietnam Airlines and Korean Air, as well as Air France-KLM and Delta Air Lines.

“Joining SkyTeam allows us to expand our global reach and offer our customers hundreds more worldwide destinations,” said MEA’s Chairman and Director General, Mohamad El-Hout. “Becoming a SkyTeam member is integral to our strategy for growth and increased profitability as we look forward to a future of cooperation with our alliance partners.”

Effective immediately, MEA customers will be able to earn and redeem miles on services operated by all SkyTeam member airlines.
