South African Tourism (SA Tourism) and Southafricaholidays.com have signed a Joint Marketing Agreement (JMA) to boost tourist arrival numbers from key markets in the Middle East to South Africa.
As per the new agreement, both entities intend to conduct a range of marketing activities focusing on some key Middle Eastern inbound visitor markets. Joint marketing activities will be rolled out by SA Tourism which will also include direct marketing activities for the travel trade and consumers.
The joint agreement will also witness the launch of the ‘SA Specialist Programme’ in the Middle East. The SA Specialist programme offers a slew of benefits for travel agents in addition to access to marketing tools and resources, familiarization trips, e-newsletters and invites for trade events among others.
South African Tourism’s chief executive officer Thulani Nzima said: “South African Tourism has been actively marketing South Africa in emerging markets including the Middle East for several years. This has resulted in a steady increase in visitor numbers. The long-term strategic partnership will contribute significantly to marketing South Africa in the Middle East. We believe that this Joint Marketing Agreement will further grow tourism to South Africa from these key Middle Eastern markets”.
Elaborating further Bisy Philip, chief operating officer of Southafricaholidays.com said: “This partnership paves the way to work closely with SA Tourism and consumers. This will create that much needed awareness and increase tourist arrivals from the Middle East to South Africa.”
Both SA Tourism and Southafricaholidays.com over the next few months will work jointly to roll out various marketing activities.
