SpiceJet announced that customers with pre-purchased meals will be served meals first on board, post which normal sales procedure will commence in the flight. The airline aims to encourage pre-booking of meals in order to ensure availability and reduce wastage on board.
Travellers can also benefit as the pre-booked meal prices are lower than on-board and more choice. The options are available in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. These meals are as a partnership with TajSATS and Café Coffee Day (CCD).
“The service will help us in delivering food quickly and as per customer’s choice at reduced prices, but will also improve on-board service efficiency. By carrying what is actually going to be consumed this, will further reduce wastage as well as serve as an important element in cost reduction”, said Kaneswaran Avili, chief commercial officer, SpiceJet Ltd.
This new service will also help the airline increase its ancillary revenues along with its innovative new products such as SpiceMAX, SpiceFlex, and Bag Out First.
