Spring Airlines Japan, the Sino-Japanese low-cost carrier, has announced plans to launch its first international flights.

Commencing in February 2016, the airline will launch flights from Tokyo Narita Airport to the Chinese cities of Wuhan and Chongqing. The Wuhan route will run three times a week while the Chongqing service will operate on the remaining four days of the week. Both routes will be served using a 189-seat Boeing 737 aircraft.

Launched in 2014, Spring Airlines Japan is a joint venture between China’s largest LCC, Shanghai-based Spring Airlines, and Japanese investors.

Spring also recently unveiled plans for a new Japanese hotel brand, and plans to develop properties in Japanese cities served by Spring Airlines flights.
