Indonesia’s Sriwijaya Air will launch four new scheduled flights linking Bali with China by the end of 2016.
The Antara news agency reported the carrier’s senior manager of corporate communications, Agus, as revealing that Sriwijaya will start flying direct from Denpasar to Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan and Changsha in the coming months. All the new flights will be operated using the airline’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
“The new flights are part of the efforts to attract more foreign tourists to Indonesia,” Agus was quoted saying.
Sriwijaya has previously operated charter flights between Bali and several Chinese cities.
In addition to the Chinese flights, Sriwijaya is planning to launch services to the Middle East next year. Flights to Jeddah are expected to commence by the end of 2017.
