Following Xiamen Airlines, the carrier will be the second carrier based at Fuzhou’s Changle International Airport.

Fuzhou Airlines, which operates under the ‘FU’ code, will initially provide scheduled services to nine major Chinese cities including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, and Taiyuan. The carrier also plans to further expand its network by introducing another five routes by end of this year, and build a fleet of five 737-800 jets.

A RMB2bn joint venture, Fuzhou Airlines is founded by Hainan Airlines and three other Chinese companies, including a state-owned investment company in Fuzhou. Hainan Airlines holds a 60% stake in the new airline.
