Starwood Hotels & Resorts has opened its second Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Taiwan.
The new Four Points by Sheraton Penghu becomes the first internationally-branded hotel in Magong City, on the island of Penghu.
It offers 308 rooms and 23 suites with free Wi-Fi, plus Chinese and international restaurants, a lounge, bar, fitness centre, sauna and a swimming pool overlooking Magong Harbor. And for the MICE market there is an 810m² ballroom and several other function rooms.
“Having recently crossed the 200th hotel milestone, we’re continuing the Four Points brand’s bullish expansion in diverse and dynamic markets across the globe,” said Vincent Ong, Starwood’s senior brand director for Asia Pacific.
“The opening of Four Points by Sheraton Penghu underscores the brand’s strong growth in Greater China with 23 operating hotels and more than 30 hotels in pipeline throughout the country.”
The new property becomes the seventh Starwood hotel in Taiwan. But the company is planning a major expansion in the country, with new Le Meridien, Aloft, Sheraton and Westin properties all set to launch in the coming months and years.
