ITC and Starwood have agreed to extend their Indian hotel partnership.
At present, the two companies co-brand 11 ITC Luxury Collection hotels in India, as well as one ITC Sheraton hotel.
And three more properties will be added to the Luxury Collection portfolio over the next four years, including the ITC Kohinoor in Hyderabad, ITC Narmada in Ahmedabad and ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata.
“ITC’s hotels exemplify our commitment to create world-class Indian brands that demonstrate global competitiveness,” said Nakul Anand, executive director of ITC. “The association with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for close to four decades bears testimony to this commitment.”
Starwood’s CEO Thomas Mangas commented; “Starwood is experiencing strong growth momentum in India with signings of new hotels in the past 12 months representing nearly 30% of our current operating footprint in the country. India remains one of our fastest growing markets and much of our success can be attributed to our long, collaborative partnership with ITC.”
The partnership has been in place since 1979, when Starwood introduced its Sheraton brand to India. It then expanded in 2007 with the nationwide launch of The Luxury Collection.
“Through this extension, we have further strengthened our partnership with ITC Hotels to offer international and Indian guests unique experiences in these new destinations,” said Dilip Puri, Starwood’s managing director for India and regional vice president for South Asia.
